Satya Nadella was appointed the CEO of Microsoft in 2014, following Bill Gates and Steve Balmer. Under Nadella, Microsoft reformed its mission statement to “empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.” Under him, Microsoft acquired Mojang, the Swedish giant best known for Minecraft games. He further oversaw the acquisition of Linkedin and GitHub. With Nadella becoming CEO, Microsoft stock tripled with a 27% annual growth rate.
